Through fun, hands-on activities, children can learn how utility locators help keep communities safe, what utility markings mean, and why every digging project—big or small—should begin with a call to 811.
While these pages were created with young learners in mind, the message is one that applies to everyone. Every year, preventable utility damages occur because underground facilities were not properly located before excavation began. A simple call to 811 helps protect critical infrastructure, prevents service interruptions, and most importantly, keeps people safe.
