The S&N group presents on Fiber Applications in the Power Space at VMDAEC E&O Conference in Virginia Beach, VA
S&N’s team helped kick off an important conversation at the Virginia, Maryland & Delaware Association of Electric Cooperatives (VMDAEC) Engineering & Operations Conference in Virginia Beach, VA today.
Our Vice President of Fiber Services, Andy Gibson, and Director of Design Engineering, Joe Phillips, partnered with Lightera’s North American Technical Manager of Sales and Application Engineering Mark Boxer, to deliver a presentation on Fiber Applications in the Power Space.
The session explored the evolution of fiber in power utilities, an overview of current deployments, and a forward-looking perspective on next-generation fiber technologies. Topics included ultra-low latency hollow core fiber, multi-core single-mode solutions, and advanced sensing fibers capable of detecting issues along the fiber path before damage occurs.
The Q&A session was especially engaging, leading to continued discussions during the Expo.
